Alex Zitto is a singer, songwriter, producer and a sound engineer. He gained prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s with his fusion of Afrobeat, reggae, R&B, and highlife music. His musical journey began as a bass guitarist and a producer.
Zittoʼs breakthrough came in 1988 when he won the first ever lekki song contest with his hit single “Tickle Me.” This lead to a contract with PolyGram Records.
Zitto followed up with the 1991 release of his hit single “Walakolombo.” This reggae-Ahrobeat fusion track became a national hit in Nigeria. Alex Zittoʼs music continues to influence the Nigerian music scene, inspiring new generation of artists.
